Abruzzo ~ Trebbiano

The vines of the Trebbiani family have been known in Italy since Roman times. Their name comes from “Trebula“, meaning farm. Pliny the Elder describes a "Vinum Trebulanum", which according to this interpretation, would stand for "country wine", or "homemade wine".

The first certain traces of the presence of Trebbiano in Abruzzo date back to the 1500s, but it is very probable that the vine has been cultivated here since Roman times. Trebbiano Abruzzese is a very versatile vine, which gives wines with a straw yellow color, with greenish reflections when young, good acidity, light and not very structured.
